I started reading Betty Edwards' book, "Color." I dedicated a small watercolor Moleskine sketchbook to important colors like flesh tones and colors I love. I created an opal rainbow type of color. Next to each color I noted the recipe of amount of which colors I used. I have 48 piece acrylic paint set to mix! It's crappy paint by Artist's Loft, but it's the best way to learn. I do love Artist's Loft for having such affordable paints, I wish they were around when I was in college. Paint is expensive! Especially oil paint. Plus Artist's Loft have gel mediums: Gloss, Matte, Molding Paste and Slow Dry Blending Gel. I did buy one expensive item because I had a 50% Off coupon at Michael's, Liquitex's "Pouring Medium." I am way too excited to use the Pouring Medium. I cannot contain my enthusiasm to use it. I seriously need to pace myself before using it because I don't want to waste it on something not that special.

Gouache Paint Review Gouache is the same as watercolor because it is a water-based paint, except it is not transparent, it is opaque. Watercolor and gouache can be used together. Gouache should dry to a velvety matte finish. It can sometimes look creamy and chalky. Gouache could appear like an acrylic paint, but it reactivates when you add water to a finished piece like watercolor. Acrylic paint does not reactivate, it dries to a strong plastic-like finish. Gouache is often used in watercolor paintings as a highlight, or to fix a mistake, or an alternative to masking. Pastel & Graphite Drawing I have a crazy amount of public and private Pinterest boards of inspiration. I have a beautiful plethora of art supplies, I don't have everything I want, but I have the basics. Sometimes despite that I don't make art. Why?!?! I don't know. Some weeks go by and I have made nothing. This bums me out. Like I said, I have inspiration, the issue is choosing what to create. I ask myself: 1. Do I want to paint in watercolor or acrylics? 2. DO I want to draw on cardboard, sketchbook, or beautiful toned paper? 3. If that doesn't give me the push then I flip through Pinterest boards, YouTube videos, and visit my favorite artist's social media pages. 4. Go to an art gallery or museum 5. Walk through an art store 6. Visit the art section of a book store 7.
