Copic Markers on Copic Paper |
If you use the Copic Blender it will make outlines look like gold, which can be good or bad depending on your goals and expectations for a piece.
What I Love about Mineral Paper:
1. The texture is cool, like velvet. Maybe? I can't quite place it.
2. It's great with water or dry media.
3. Approximately $6.00 (9x12 / 20-sheets).
4. Waterproof, you literally can draw in the rain with it, but I never draw in the rain, so... Haha
5. It is hard to tear, but when you try it stretches like plastic. Although you can cut it with a scissor. Which is probably the only way scissor can beat rock.
6. If you make a watercolor mistake you can wipe it off with a wet paper towel.
7. Pencil and Ink is easily erasable.
8. Colors remain vibrant on the paper.
9. When I use the Copic blender marker I sometimes get gold outlines. Gold is one of my favorite colors.
10. The only uncool thing about mineral paper is that, (despite it's not made from trees), there is conflicting information online about whether or not it's eco-friendly. Some say it is better than using trees, while others mention a long list of reasons why it's not sustainable. Of course I did my research after I bought it. Silly. Since there are so many mixed messages about this paper online, I decided that I already bought it, I mind as well not let it go to waste. It is also fun to use.
Yasutomo's Mineral Paper Multi Media: Blick, Jerry's Artarama, and you can also buy it at Artist & Craftman although I can't find it in their online store, I bought mine in one of their Brooklyn locations.
