Answers to Your Lame Excuses Regarding Making Art

That's right, I have all the answers to your excuses about your art skills!

Keith Haring

"I can only draw stick figures."

Keith Haring's art work is in many museums.

Claim that your stick figures carry a deeper meaning and you can call it art.

Jens Haaning

"I can't draw anything."

The Danish "artist," Jens Haaning, can't draw anything either. You're in good company.

Check out this article: Take the Money & Run!

Picasso

"I draw like a child."

There is a museum dedicated to Picasso in Barcelona, Spain.

Jackson Pollack

"I'm too messy. I can't make anything look good."

Pollack's art is in museums. Your point is invalid.

Domenic Murphy

"My art is shit."

I like to call this piece, Pootin. This stinker made art with his dog's feces.
He made it to raise money for the people of the Ukraine. 🖤
In the past Picasso used his daughter's to make a piece of "art."
This medium is amusing and absolutely disgusting. Also not inspirational. Sorry.

Everyone values artists that focus in hyperrealism. Hyperrealism is impressive, but the artists that are deemed masters tend to be the most ridiculous. When I think of the art world I can't help but think of the childhood folktale by Hans Christian Andersen, "The Emperor's New Clothes." Art is subjective, every artist has an audience. If someone does not like your art, they are not your audience.

I am grateful that I went to museums when I was a kid. Those experiences formed how I look at art. I was not impressed by some artists, while others inspired me to make my own art. I remember that some of the art in the museums looked like my own kid art at the time, and I thought, I'm already a great artist! 🤣

Expose your kids to art, the good, the bad, and the ridiculous. It gives confidence and armor for the people that want to discourage budding artists.

Art Supply Review: 6 Gouache Brands Comparison

Gouache Paint Review Gouache is the same as watercolor because it is a water-based paint, except it is not transparent, it is opaque. Watercolor and gouache can be used together. Gouache should dry to a velvety matte finish. It can sometimes look creamy and chalky. Gouache could appear like an acrylic paint, but it reactivates when you add water to a finished piece like watercolor. Acrylic paint does not reactivate, it dries to a strong plastic-like finish. Gouache is often used in watercolor paintings as a highlight, or to fix a mistake, or an alternative to masking.  Gouache Brands Links: Lukas Studio Gouache Savior Faire Gouache Holbein Irodori Artist Gouache Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache Artist's Loft Jelly Gouache Arteza Paint Tubs (Jelly Gouache) How I will judge the gouache I am testing? 1. Art Show at Seek Coffee

Art Show at Seek Coffee I have two paintings showing at Seek Coffee in Astoria, Queens this Saturday.  They are available for purchase. I will also be selling embellished prints.  Cassie of Euphoria by Amber Art Inspiration Photo from Euphoria I love the famous scene from the 2nd season of Euphoria. Cassie surrounded by flowers is so beautiful and almost religious. I wanted to capture the beautiful but sad moment. I wanted to give it an art nouveau feel. I left her face in pencil because she is not a fully realized woman, she was completely unable to view her worth and dignity which led to her self-sabotage that hurt everyone around her.  Medium: Watercolor, Ink, Gold Leaf, and Pencil. Size: 6x8 on 8x10 watercolor paper. Purchase online: Click Here! Chrysalis by Amber Art I do not have an inspiration photo. I was inspired to draw this after a hard day at work dealing with too many egos. I was exhausted, but hopeful for a rebirth in energy and hope again due to a lon...
